Toyota has unveiled the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser, which comes with quite a number of changes in comparison to its 2017 counterpart. This was to be expected, as the Land Cruiser happens to be one of the most luxurious all-terrain vehicles in the world. It has a worldwide reputation for being dependable and reliable, and is successfully marketed in more than 190 countries. Without wasting much time, let’s get right into it and have a closer look at what’s new with the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser.

Exterior

The front end has received the bulk of the changes. Modifications have been made to the bumper, grille, and headlights. Adjustments to the grille and headlights have contributed to the maximization of wading depth and protection. The headlights have been tilted inward to avoid damage by off-road hazards when on escapades in the countryside. The Land Cruiser comes with standard halogen headlights which can be upgraded to halogen high beams and LED low beams.  The car also comes with LED daytime running lights as well. The scallop in the hood center is meant to enhance forward viewing, and the front fenders have been raised to enable better visibility of the SUV width. The wheels are 17-, 18-, and 19-inch alloy rollers. This latest Land Cruiser edition features two new exterior colors which are the Avant-Garde Bronze Metallic and Midnight Emerald Blue.

Interior

Interior changes include the re-arrangement of the dashboard to provide improved functionality. Controls are categorized as drivetrain, comfort, and driving. The 4WD controls are located below the HVAC controls and infotainment screen. For driving through rough terrain, the 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser comes with thicker knee pads beside the center console to ensure your knees and legs don’t get bruised when bouncing on rocky terrain. The larger 8-inch infotainment screen is absolutely delightful. The Land Cruiser’s interior with its improved interior LED mood lighting truly deserves to be called luxurious.

Engine Power

The Land Cruiser makes its debut with three well-known engine types: the 2.7-liter gasoline 4-cylinder, the 4.0-liter gasoline V-6, and the 2.8-liter D-4D 4-cylinder turbodiesel. However, the engine and transmission pairing will differ in different areas of the world. Western Europe and Australia have the 2.8-liter turbodiesel choice with the 2.7-liter and 4.0-liter being available in Eastern Europe. In addition, the 2.8 liter gives a power output of 128 horsepower and 332 lb-ft of torque accompanied by 6-speed automatic transmission. The 6-speed manual gearbox gives a torque output of 309 lb-ft. The 2.7-liter gasoline 4-cylinder delivers 118 horsepower and has 181 lb-ft of torque output. The distinguished 4.0-liter V-6 offers 180 horsepower and 281 lb-ft of torque.

Safety

The 2018 Toyota Land Cruiser offers you the latest Toyota Safety Sense with updated technologies including adaptive cruise control, pedestrian detection, lane departure warning, a pre-collision system, and automatic high beams. Other additions include rear cross traffic alert, blind-spot monitoring, and an improved tire pressure monitoring system.
