Twelve days of the year, the shops in downtown Kingsport are open for extended hours. This tradition has been labeled the Sip and Stroll, and it is held on the first Thursday of every month. If you’re thinking about heading out for a night of fun and shopping at the next Sip and Stroll, here’s a quick guide to some of the top spots to hit along the way so you can Sip and Stroll like a pro.

Grab the Latest Styles and Craft Goods at Mercantile On Broad

Mercantile on Broad is located on 237 Broad St. This fashion and general home goods store is a great place to hit during the Sip and Stroll. There are over 50 vendors inside, each offering their own styles and goods. The high amount of vendors in one area makes it one of the best places to do some shopping on the first Thursday Sip and Stroll. With so many different sellers, you’re bound to see new things you love each and every month.

Find Amazing Odds and Ends at Variety Printing and Gifts

Located at 112 E. Market St., Variety Printing and Gifts sells a wide variety of home decorations, wall hangings, keepsake storage, and more. Many of the items in the store have a unique and boutique-style look and feel. While many gift shops sell a lot of the same types of things, typically targeting tourists, Variety Printing is different. Here, you’ll find some truly unique items for your home. The shop also has a large selection of jewelry on display, so if you need some last-minute accessories, head into Variety Printing.

SproutyPea Children’s Boutique

If you have some shopping to do for the children in your life, head over to SproutyPea on 234 E. Market St. SproutyPea sells kid’s clothes and shoes mostly. You’re bound to find some exciting and unique clothing options when shopping at SproutyPea. Another item you’ll commonly find is seasonally themed children’s attire. So, if you need an outfit for Easter, Christmas, or Halloween, you can find some unique clothes for that time of year.

Don’t Forget to Grab Some Drinks

The monthly event is called Sip and Stroll, after all, so make sure you find some time for sipping as well. There are several pubs and distilleries that you can stop at for a quick drink before continuing your stroll.

The Hook and Ladder Distillery on 316 Broad St. has over a dozen kinds of moonshine to choose from, including the extra strong 140 Fire, which is 70 percent alcohol. If you’re not in the mood for moonshine, the Model City Taphouse located on 324 Market St. has plenty of great craft beers on tap. Anyone looking for a brewery or brewpub experience can head over to the Sleepy Owl Brewery on 151 Main St.
