The 2.5-liter, four-cylinder engine with a direct-shift, eight-speed, automatic transmission is standard on the LE, SE, and XLE. It provides 203-horsepower and 184-pounds-feet of torque. The 2022 Camry also offers a 3.5-liter, 24-Valve DOHC, V6 engine with the direct-shift, eight-speed, automatic transmission for the TRD, XLE V6, and XSE V6. The V6 engine offers 301-horsepower and 267-pounds-feet of torque. The hybrid Camrys feature a 2.5-liter, Dynamic Force four-cylinder engine, an electric motor, and an ECVT for a net hybrid 208-horsepower.

The 2022 Camry is front-wheel drive (FWD) with all-wheel drive optional. It features independent McPherson strut front suspension and multi-link rear suspension with stabilizer bars. The SE and XSE provide a sport-tuned suspension, and the TRD has a TRD track-tuned suspension. The Camry includes power-assisted ventilated, 12-inch front disc brakes, and solid, 11.06-inch rear disc brakes. The TRD has 12.9-inch front brakes. The 3-Mode Drive Switch offers eco, normal, and sport modes. The hybrid versions add an EV drive mode.
