The 2022 Toyota Camry is a popular midsize sedan that offers excellent fuel economy, a spacious cabin, and a long list of driver-assist features.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
With the Camry, you can choose from attractive paint options such as Supersonic Red, Blueprint, Predawn Gray Mica, and Ruby Flare Pearl. Two-tone options with a black roof are also available. The Camry comes in five trim levels: the LE, SE, XLE, XSE, and TRD. A hybrid model is offered on all trims except for the TRD. In addition, a Nightshade Edition trim, which comes with 18-inch wheels, unique badging, and blacked-out features, is available on the SE trim.
The base LE trim is well-equipped with standard features such as Bi-LED combination headlights, LED combination taillights, LED daytime running lights, 17-inch alloy wheels, and power-adjustable side mirrors. With the SE trim, you receive heated mirrors with turn-signal indicators, 18-inch alloy wheels, a color-keyed rear spoiler, and a single exhaust with dual chrome tips.
The XLE trim adds side mirrors with blind-spot indicators and handles with touch sensors, while the XSE trim comes with 19-inch black alloy wheels and a dual exhaust with quad chrome steel tips. The sporty TRD trim boasts a Gloss Black front splitter, a Gloss Black rear spoiler, a TRD cat-back dual exhaust with polished stainless-steel tips, and a rear diffuser with red pinstriping.
Engine (Power)
You can choose from three powertrains with the Camry. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine pairs with an eight-speed automatic transmission and generates 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. Front-wheel drive is standard and all-wheel drive optional.
For a more energetic output, go for the TRD trim, which is powered by a 3.5-liter V-6 engine. It is also mated to an eight-speed automatic and produces an output of 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. This engine is available with a front-wheel-drive system exclusively. The hybrid powertrain consists of a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine and an electric motor, which provide a combined output of 208 horsepower.
Performance
The Camry offers three drive modes so that you can tailor your drive to suit your mood. Sport Mode delivers a sharper acceleration feel, while Normal Mode provides a combination of economy and performance. With Eco Mode, you can maximize the efficiency of your Camry. If you opt for the SE or XSE trims, your Camry will deliver a smooth ride and sharp handling, due to a sophisticated sport-tuned suspension system.
Interior
The cabin of the Camry is well laid out and spacious. Comfortable seating for up to five people is provided and you receive a spacious cargo area of 15.1 cubic feet. The standard 7-inch infotainment system offers Apple CarPlay and Android Auto integration, six speakers, Bluetooth, SiriusXM, and Wi-Fi Connect. Other standard features include fabric upholstery, a power-adjustable driver's seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control. The higher trims add premium features such as heated and ventilated seats, a premium JBL audio system, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, wireless charging, and leather upholstery.
Safety Features
All Camry trims are equipped with Toyota Safety Sense 2.5+ suite, which consists of a pre-collision system with pedestrian detection, lane-tracing assist, dynamic radar cruise control, road-sign assist, and lane-departure warning with steering assist.
