Explore the 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross

There is another exciting SUV coming to the Toyota lineup for 2022. The Corolla Cross combines features of the car and an SUV. The 2022 model is hitting the market in three trim levels. LE, XLE, and Limited. 

Power

The 2022 Toyota Corolla Cross uses a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder block that generates 169 horsepower. All three trims will have the same power under the hood. It also has a continuously variable automatic transmission for a smooth ride regardless of road conditions. Front-wheel drive is standard, but you will have the option of adding all-wheel drive for a more adventurous ride and responsive handling during adverse weather conditions.

When it comes to towing, you’ll be able to haul up to 1,500 pounds with the proper equipment.

Technology

When it comes to information and entertainment, all of the trims include Apple and Android connectivity. A trial subscription to Sirius XM is also standard with the vehicles. Between connecting your smart device to the vehicle and the endless array on the satellite radio, there will be something to keep everyone happy on the road. You can access any of the infotainment features through a touchscreen or with the shortcut keys around the outside of the screen. 

Some of the optional features you can add for even more enjoyment include a wireless charging port up front and USB ports in the second row. This way, all of your devices stay charged and ready to go on the road. 

Safety

As always, safety is important to Toyota. Corolla Cross owners enjoy a myriad of standard safety features, including the Toyota Safety Sense bundle. These features work together to keep you and your passengers safe at all times. Among the features are standard blind side alerts. These yellow lights turn out if there is someone or something in your blind side, so you don’t attempt to change lanes. The lights go out automatically once the danger has passed. The lane departure alert warns you if the vehicle drifts across the lane markings without you turning on the turn signals. It can also help you correct your lane position to avoid an accident. 

Full-speed dynamic radar cruise control is an important feature when you are navigating busy highways or city traffic. It allows you to set your preferred speed and will adjust the vehicle as needed if you get too close to the vehicle in front of you. Once the heavier traffic clears, you’ll return to your set speed. 

Another important safety feature for city driving is the pre-collision system with pedestrian detection. This feature uses sensors and small cameras to scan the road. It alerts you if there is a potential hazard in the roadway. It’ll also warn you if someone or something is about to step into the road so you can react appropriately and avoid an accident.
