Fun Spring Activities in Driving Distance of Kingsport, TN - Toyota of Kingsport

When the seasons change and the flowers bloom in Kingsport, TN, you can have a royal good time. Discover these delightful spring activities in the region.

Hike-a-Thon

Every April for the entire month, TennGreen Land Conservancy hosts one of the southeast’s biggest and best celebrations of nature. Participating individuals can get outdoors and compete against other nature lovers in activities like hiking, mountain biking and climbing, trail running, paddling, and even nature photography. And it’s all for a good cause, as proceeds go to charitable fundraising efforts.

If you’re looking for a great place to partake in your adventures, Bays Mountain Park and Warriors’ Path State Park are ideal avenues to get in touch with nature. The former spans over 3,600 acres and boasts an expansive lake, an incredible nature center, and trails for hiking and biking totaling 40 miles. Warriors’ Path, at 960 acres, has trails for all skill levels as well as boat slips for aquatic fun.

Seasonal Tours

Bays Mountain, located at 853 Bays Mountain Park Road, also offers awe-inspiring tours inspired by some of the region’s most memorable sites. Marvel as the picturesque wildflowers reach full bloom on the Spring Wildflower Hike or the Spring Wildflower Tour, the latter of which is shorter but no less beautiful. Or soak in the splendid sight of a 30-plus foot waterfall on the Spring Waterfall Tour, complete with a picnic.

In addition, celebrate the season and its holidays (from Earth Day to Mother’s Day) with a yoga hike featuring–you guessed it–nature and yoga in sensational synchronicity.

Fantastic Festivals

Warriors’ Path touts its own impressive ode to spring with the Annual Spring Nature Festival in mid-April. For three days, 490 Hemlock Road hosts a series of fun and informative hikes and seminars. You’ll learn about topics such as animal tracking, birds, stream ecology, and pollinators. And you’ll interact with Mother Nature up-close via walks connecting you with creeks, wildlife, after-dark habitats, and the stunning spring night sky.

If you want to ramp up the music experience, the Meadowview Convention Center at 1901 Meadowview Parkway puts on a raucous Bluegrass in the Blue Ridge Music Festival in mid-April.

Spring Sports

Springtime and golfing go hand-in-hand. If you think you have what it takes, the Crockett Ridge Golf Course at 4439 L. Jack Drive is home to the CASA Golf Classic in mid-May. Earlier in the month, the Chamber of Commerce sponsors the uber-popular Golf Scramble.

For a different kind of athletic experience, catch a race at the Kingsport Speedway short track on 2962 N. John B. Dennis Highway. Or feel like you’re on the track yourself with the Toyota GR Supra. This sport car’s beastly turbocharged inline-six engine can rev up to over 150 MPH and reach 60 in a flash of five seconds or less.

Spring’s the season of new beginnings and the perfect time for a sweet new ride. Drop by Toyota of Kingsport and find your fit in our diverse new and used inventories today.
