Your battery may be worn out, and it's unable to provide enough power for the starter motor to complete the crank. A second possibility is that your battery is fine, but you have another electrical problem affecting your battery. The battery is connected to the starter by cables with terminal connectors at each end. The terminals might be rusted or corroded, which affects the electrical charge. The wiring might also be damaged, which prevents enough power from reaching the starter. Our technicians will check the battery and fix the problem. Battery Warning Light The battery-shaped warning light on the dash represents the electrical system. This light is connected to numerous sensors emplaced in your electrical system. Each of these sensors is attached to a component. The sensor's job is to monitor its component and report to your car's computer. The sensors can detect even minute changes in their attached components and report to your computer. If this warning light comes on, it doesn't necessarily mean that you have a battery problem. A healthy radiator is key to a long and healthy engine life. The radiator is responsible for removing the heat from your engine by heat exchange. This process replaces hot internal air with cooler external air and keeps your engine at its optimum operating temperature. As time passes, your radiator can become worn or damaged. Seals and gaskets can fail, and the cylinders and pistons can be warped if the problem isn't fixed. Coolant isn't consumed as it works, which means a lack of coolant can only be due to a leak. You can test for a coolant leak by placing a large piece of clean cardboard underneath your car overnight. A catalytic converter is attached to almost every vehicle in the US. Their purpose is to remove dangerous and toxic gases from the exhaust byproducts. Converting these gases helps to remove 99% of pollution from the exhaust smoke. A converter can become clogged or damaged, but Toyota of Kingsport in Kingsport, TN can fix it for you. These are signs that your converter could have a problem. more Black Exhaust Smoke Normal exhaust smoke is almost invisible and has a relatively mild scent. A problem in the engine, for example, a fuel-rich environment, will cause the converter's temperature to rise above its safety level. This can cause the converter to overheat and burn out. We'll examine your converter and replace it to fix this problem. Broken Honeycomb The inside of a converter has a honeycomb configuration. The honeycomb provides a large surface area for converting the engine gases. Over time, the heat and high pressure can cause cracks to form in the structure.
