The 2026 Toyota Sequoia arrives with the quiet confidence of a machine shaped by purpose. It’s vast, yes, but more importantly, it’s cohesive — every surface, every curve, every mechanical decision contributing to an SUV engineered to move families, gear, and ambitions without hesitation. For drivers in Kingsport, TN, the Sequoia feels naturally suited to the rhythm of daily life and the sweep of Appalachian backroads. It’s a vehicle that looks as capable as it is, and crucially, delivers on that promise.
Performance With Intent
Power in the Sequoia isn’t about drama; it’s about authority. The i-FORCE MAX Twin-Turbo V6 Hybrid produces 437 hp and 583 lbs. ft. of torque, numbers that translate into a smooth, confident surge rather than brute force. Towing up to 9,500 lbs. becomes a task performed with composure rather than strain, and the hybrid’s 22 MPG combined estimate is a reminder that efficiency and capability no longer need to sit on opposite ends of a spectrum.
The available TRD suspension systems elevate the Sequoia’s versatility. FOX® Internal Bypass coil-overs and remote-reservoir shocks, or the alternative Bilstein® setup, give this large SUV a sense of control that belies its size. Tennessee backroads, gravel routes, and rougher paths become opportunities rather than obstacles. It’s engineering with a sense of purpose — not merely toughness for its own sake, but toughness shaped intelligently.
A Cabin Crafted for Real Journeys
Inside, the Sequoia’s design shifts toward calm sophistication. Up to 86.9 cu. ft. of cargo space behind the front row and seating for 8 create a cabin that feels expansive without feeling excessive. Materials are chosen with intention: supportive, durable, and comfortable for the journeys that matter — school runs, mountain weekends, or long interstate drives.
Toyota’s understanding of modern usability is evident in its clean digital layout. The standard 8-inch touchscreen, or the commanding 14-inch option, anchors the cabin with clarity and immediacy. Wireless smartphone integration and Toyota’s Connected Services give drivers the ability to monitor vehicle health, use remote start, and stay seamlessly linked to the Sequoia at all times.
It’s technology that respects the driver rather than overwhelms them.
Safety Designed Into the Structure
Toyota Safety Sense forms the backbone of the Sequoia’s protective capabilities. Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic Emergency Braking work in harmony to support the driver rather than interrupt them. These systems aren’t intrusive — they’re measured, quietly reinforcing the sense of stability that defines the Sequoia.
Additional features like a Surround-View Camera and Blind-Spot Monitoring extend situational awareness with the same calm assurance that runs through the entire design. The result is a full-size SUV that feels as safe in tight urban spaces as it does on open highway.
