Trim Levels (Exterior)
The beloved Tacoma is known for its square-jawed stance. It has a muscular look that really stands out, plus a bold, dark grille and amazing 2021 color options, including Voodoo Blue, Barcelona Red Metallic, Cement, Wind Chill Pearl, Lunar Rock, and Army Green.
For 2021, the Toyota Tacoma is available in six trims. The base trim is the SR, followed by the SR5, the TRD Sport, the TRD Off-Road, the Limited trim, and the premium TRD Pro.
Standard exterior features for the base trim include projector-beam headlights, a gray grille bordered in black, and 16-inch steel wheels. On the high end of the spectrum, the TRD Pro offers LED headlights equipped with sequential LED turn signals and a power moonroof with a sliding sunshade.
When you choose one of these trucks, you can select a compact Access Cab or go for a Double Cab. You'll also have your choice of a couple of bed lengths. Access Cabs come with 6-foot beds, while Double Cab designs are available with 5-foot or 6-foot beds.
Engine (Power)
The base trim is equipped with a 2.7-liter V-4 engine that provides 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. A 3.5-liter V-6 option is also available, which delivers 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. Either engine may be paired with a six-speed automatic transmission or a six-speed manual transmission.
Performance
There's a 2021 Toyota Tacoma for every type of driver. TRD Sport and Limited designs are perfect for cruising city streets. TRD Off-Road and TRD Pro trucks are perfect for rougher terrain. With rear-wheel drive, a Tacoma will be able to tow a maximum of 6,800 pounds when properly equipped, while four-wheel-drive trucks will pull up to 6,500 pounds.
