The 2021 Honda CR-V has a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that creates 190 horsepower and 179 pound-feet of torque. The hybrid option offers even less horsepower and torque.
Technology
The 2021 RAV4 has a higher starting MSRP than the CR-V; we'll give it that. But the reason is that the CR-V forces you to move up trim levels to see the same features the RAV4 offers upfront.
An example of this is the connective technology that comes with each. The 2021 CR-V comes standard with a 5-inch touch screen that's replaced by a 7-inch version at the second trim level. The base-level RAV4 offers a 7-inch touch screen with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, a feature that the CR-V does offer until you get to its larger option.
This same trim-level bottlenecking includes LED headlights, which the RAV4 offers from the start. When you get a CR-V equipped with the same features the first RAV4 level offers, the Toyota's price tag looks much better.
