The 2020 Toyota Yaris is another exciting addition to the Toyota family with its new features and additions. Read below for more information about the different trims, its engine performance, interior and safety features included in the latest Yaris release.
Trim Levels (Exterior)
Choose from three Yaris trim models: the entry-level L, midrange LE, and fully loaded XLE. The L is both extremely affordable and nicely stocked with modern features. On it you'll find 15-inch steel wheels and full power accessories including locks, mirrors, and windows. Its standard cruise control technology is a great addition to your next road trip.
When you upgrade to the LE, you'll look sharp with 16-inch alloy wheels and a rear spoiler. The LE's foglights are another nice touch, lighting the way on a misty morning. Heated outside mirrors and LED turn signals help you both see and be seen. The LE's keyless ignition and entry features will help you make a smooth, quick exit.
Upgrade to the top-trim XLE for automatic LED headlights and a better view of the road after dark. This fully loaded Yaris model also adds automatic wipers, helping you maintain maximum visibility during a rainstorm.
Engine (Power)
All 2020 Yaris trim models feature the same engine, a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. A standard six-speed manual transmission powers the front wheels, giving you a little extra control over your on-road performance. However, shoppers can always choose the optional six-speed automatic transmission for a more relaxed driving experience. Note that the automatic transmission comes standard for the top-trim XLE model.
Performance
The Yaris definitely delivers plenty of fuel efficiency, but it also adds a lot of fun to your commute. Both Yaris transmission options do an excellent job of responding to your driving, whether you're in the mood for a burst of speed or a smooth highway ride.
The automatic transmission also offers slightly better fuel economy, earning up to 35 mpg combined. However, with the manual transmission, fuel economy is almost as good, coming in at 34 mpg combined. The top-of-the-line XLE trim features two driver settings, Normal and Sport, letting you choose between maximum fuel economy and a very fun commute.
Interior
Outside, the Yaris is a subcompact sedan. Inside, however, it's pleasantly roomy and comfortable. The seats even best that of competitors with their commute-friendly lateral support and snug bolstering.
And every Yaris comes standard with an impressive range of infotainment gear, including Bluetooth connectivity and two USB ports to keep devices charged. This year, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto smartphone capabilities join the standard lineup, projecting smartphone apps onto the 7-inch touch screen, and giving you impressive access to your phone's voice controls.
On the top-trim XLE, you'll find increasing interior comfort and style, with simulated leather upholstery and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. This model also features automatic climate control, which does an excellent job of maintaining your perfect temperature, whatever that may be.
Safety Features
The Yaris is also more than merely affordable; it's packed with all the latest in high-tech safety aids. The entry-level L trim model comes standard with forward collision warning with low-speed automatic emergency braking and a rearview camera, both of which do a fine job of helping you spot danger.
