Trim Levels
The Yaris sedan now comes in three different trim levels. The entry-level L has 15-inch steel wheels, while the LE will get you 16-inch alloy wheels. The LE also adds fog lights, and it comes with a rear spoiler and heated side mirrors, along with LED turn signals. The top-level XLE also has the 16-inch alloy wheels, and it adds automatic LED headlights and automatic windshield wipers. All three trims will now have a new sporty front grille with Toyota's honeycomb insert design, along with new exterior black accents and chrome trim is also available.
Engine
All the 2019 Yaris models come with the same 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine. This will make 106 horsepower and 103 pound-feet of torque, and it works with a six-speed manual transmission with the option for a six-speed automatic. If you opt for the XLE, the automatic transmission comes standard.
Performance
The suspension in the Yaris provides a comfortable ride and it does an excellent job of smoothing out the bumps in the road. This is a great car for running around town and with its small size and tight turning radius, it will fit into tight spaces making parking a breeze. The light steering makes it easy to maneuver and it handles well when going around turns.
Interior
The Yaris can fit up to five passengers and comes standard with cloth seats. The materials in this compact vehicle are higher-quality than what you usually find in small cars, with soft-touch surfaces in many areas. In the back, the cargo area has over 13 cubic feet with the rear seats which is good for its class, and the rear seats feature a 60/40 split so you can customize the amount of storage and passenger space. If you bump up to the XLE model, you'll get simulated leather upholstery, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, and automatic climate control. A 7-inch touch screen comes standard. The Yaris also has Bluetooth and voice recognition, along with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. Steering wheel controls make it easy to adjust the stereo and answer calls. It also has a six-speaker stereo system.
Safety Features
All the Yaris models come with a rearview camera, dynamic stability control, traction control, and anti-lock brakes. Each model also comes with a low-speed pre-collision system, which will scan the road ahead looking for potential collisions, and it provides the driver with audio and visual alerts, along with braking assistance if needed. The Yaris comes with the lower anchors and tethers for children system in all the outboard seats, and it has a tire pressure monitor system in all three trim levels.
