2019 Toyota Camry
2018 brought a new Toyota Camry to the market, and although it's still new the 2019 model has already made some changes. Amazon Alexa and Apple CarPlay now work with every model, and Entune 3.0 Audio Plus comes standard on XLE and XSE models. With improvements like these to a new design, it's easy to see why the Camry is such a popular midsize sedan.
Trim Levels
The 2019 Camry has seven standard trims: L, LE, XLE, XLE V6, SE, XSE, and XSE V6. It also has three hybrid options: Hybrid LE, Hybrid SE, and Hybrid XLE. L trims are the more straightforward models and offer upgrades like Entune Audio, Audio Plus, and Premium, an eight-way adjustable driver's seat, and a panoramic sunroof. S trims give you more sporty features on top of that, including 18 or 19-inch tires, a sport-tuned suspension, and a sport mesh front grille.
Engine
Counting the hybrid, the 2019 Toyota Camry has three engines on offer. The small option is a 2.5-liter I-4 that delivers 203 horsepower and 184 pound-feet of torque. These numbers change to 206 and 186 on the XSE trim. You can also get a 3.5-liter V-6 engine with the V6 trims, and this engine provides up to 301 horsepower and 267 pound-feet of torque. With the hybrid trims you'll get a 2.5-liter engine tuned for efficiency that offers 176 horsepower and 163 pound-feet of torque, and combined with an electric motor with 118 horsepower you get a net 208 ponies for the system.
Performance
Even if you only get the base I-4 engine, the 2019 Camry has plenty of power to spare, especially for a midsize sedan. Something else you'll get is an advanced transmission: depending on the engine you'll get either an automatic with eight gears or a CVT with shift mode. Thanks to these efficient transmissions and the cleverly designed engines, the 2019 Camry gets some of the best gas mileage figures in its class. The hybrid engine does even better and competes as one of the most efficient regular hybrids offered today.
Interior
The inside of the 2019 Toyota Camry can spare 38 inches of legroom for the back row, and the trunk gives you 15.1 cubic feet for groceries, luggage, and any other cargo you need to move. The new Camry also features soft-touch surfaces throughout the cabin, and even if you get the basic L trim you'll still get features like a 7-inch touch screen with the Entune 3.0 infotainment system and a suite of apps. Higher trims add features like Dynamic Navigation, eight-way adjustable leather seats, an 8-inch screen, and nine JBL speakers.
Safety Features
The 2019 Camry demonstrates Toyota's dedication to safety by coming standard with the Star Safety System and no fewer than 10 air bags. On top of features like this, the Toyota Safety Sense P package is standard on every trim, and with it you get features like the Pre-Collision System with Pedestrian Detection, Automatic High Beams, Dynamic Radar Cruise Control, and the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist.
