Trim Levels
Before you decide on a trim level, you first need to choose just how much Tundra you need. The double-cab boasts two full-size doors that open to unveil seating in the back, while the CrewMax has four doors, much like a sedan. The Tundra also has three bed options: 5.5 feet, 6.5 feet, and 8.1 feet.Once you've picked the cab and bed size, it's time to choose one of the Tundra's five amazing trim levels: the SR, SR5, Limited, Platinum, and 1794 Edition. The entry-level SR is one of the best base models in the industry, sporting amenities such as halogen headlights, LED daytime running lights, heated outside mirrors, and 18-inch styled steel wheels. The SR5 adds chrome accents and halogen fog lights.The Limited is where the Tundra really starts to boast some exterior extras. Some of the specs on the Limited are LED headlights, LED fog lights, a deck rail system, and 20-inch, five-spoke alloy wheels. With the Platinum, drivers get heated side mirrors with integrated turn signals, and 20-inch, six-spoke wheels. The 1794 Edition rounds out the lineup with a chrome grille.
Engine
Depending on your needs, the Tundra offers two engine options. The first is a monstrous, 4.6-liter V8, capable of churning out 310 horsepower and 327 pound-feet of torque. With this at the helm, you can tow a whopping 6,700 to 6,800 pounds. However, it's only available on the SR and SR5.If you want some more oomph, opt for the 5.7-liter V8 that comes standard on higher trim levels. This brawny workhorse can handle any workload thanks to 381 horsepower and 401 pound-feet of torque. That's good enough to pull anywhere from 8,800 to 9,400 pounds.
Performance
Off-road enthusiasts, rejoice! The TRD Sport package lets you go anywhere you want with four-wheel drive, a sports-tuned suspension, and massive tires. Even if you aren't going off-roading or bouldering, you can still choose four-wheel drive on the Tundra. Front-wheel drive comes standard.
Interior
Despite its reputation as a workhorse, the Tundra has an interior that's better than it has to be. This includes top-notch features such as the Entune infotainment system with touch-screen display, available heated and leather trimmed seats, Bluetooth connectivity, and premium sound on upper trims.
Safety Features
Thanks to the Toyota Safety Sense P suite, the Tundra boasts more active safety features than ever. While it has yet to undergo crash tests, expect these features to push the Tundra from a four-star to a five-star safety rating.
