Trim Levels
The Sienna comes in five different trim levels that include the L, LE, XLE, SE, and Limited. The base trim starts off with 17-inch alloy wheels, a blacked out grille, and the redesigned front fascia. The LE adds power sliding doors, and the XLE adds a moonroof. The SE trim is the sportier trim with a unique exterior style and 19-inch alloy wheels along with a firmer suspension. The top-level Limited trim adds some interior upgrades. The new front fascia includes flared side sills and a larger grill with a new bolder shape.
Engine
All the models have the same 3.5-liter V-6 engine that generates 296 horsepower and 263 pound-feet of torque. This engine has its own eight-speed automatic transmission, and front-wheel drive is standard with all-wheel drive offered as an option on the LE, XLE, and Limited models. The V6 is strong and will get the Sienna up to 60 miles per hour in just seven seconds.
Performance
The expected fuel economy for the 2018 Sienna stands at 19 miles per gallon in the city and 27 mpg on the highway with front wheel drive, and 18 mpg in the city and 24 mpg on the highway with the all-wheel drive. The V6 is powerful enough for confident passing on the highway, and the Sienna handles well on all types of roads. The transmission shifts smoothly through the gears, and there is an option for a touring drive mode to stiffen up the suspension.
Interior
The Sienna’s cabin is spacious and comfortable, and if you upgrade to the Limited model, the second row features lounge seats that recline with leg cushion extenders along with footrests. The third row is large enough to accommodate adults, and since the second row slides forward, it makes it easy to get enough leg room. The Limited trim also features the Driver Easy Speak loudspeaker. This system projects the driver’s voice into the back, so everyone in the vehicle can hear them. Toyota’s updated Entune 3.0 infotainment system includes navigation and a suite of integrated apps, and there is also a JBL stereo system is standard on some trims and optional on the lower trims.
Safety Features
Toyota’s Safety Sense suite of safety systems is standard on all the trims. This suite includes adaptive cruise control, automatic high beams, and a forward collision warning system that comes with automatic emergency braking that works at full speed. There is also a lane departure warning system with lane keep assist. All the trims come with a rearview camera, and if you step up to the Limited trim, it comes with a 360-degree bird’s eye view camera system.
