Trim Levels
The Toyota Tacoma comes in six different trim levels: SR, SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro. Choose the SR trim level and you'll get projector-beam headlights, daytime running lights, a dark gray grille with black surround, and color-keyed door handles, outside mirrors, and rear bumper. Select the SR5 and get projector-beam headlights, daytime running lights, integrated fog lights, a charcoal grille with chrome surround, a chrome rear bumper, and color-keyed door handles and outside mirrors.The TRD Sport and TRD Off-Road have projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lights, integrated wide-angle fog lights, a gray grille with smoked finish and a chrome surround, and color-keyed door handles and outside mirrors. On the Limited you'll find projector-beam headlights, LED daytime running lights, integrated fog lights with chrome bezels, a charcoal grille with polished finish and a chrome surround, chrome-accented door handles, outside mirrors, and a color-keyed rear bumper.Finally, the TRD Pro comes with projector-beam headlights with black sport bezels, LED daytime running lights, LED fog lights, taillights with black sport bezels, a heritage-inspired grille, a hood scoop with a decal, and color-keyed door handles, outside mirrors, and rear bumper.
Engine
The Tacoma SR, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro all come with a 3.5-liter, V6, 24-valve direct-injection engine that gets 278 horsepower and 265 pound-feet of torque. The Tacoma SR5 comes with a 2.7-liter, four-cylinder, 16-valve engine that gets 159 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. Additionally, the SR, SR5, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro all have a six-speed automatic transmission, while the TRD Sport comes standard with a six-speed manual transmission.
Performance
For work or play, the Tacoma has the power to get the job done. If you know you'll be doing a lot of towing, the TRD Pro comes standard with a Class-IV towing hitch receiver, power steering cooler, engine oil cooler, four- and seven-pin connector with converter, and trailer-sway control safety feature for a towing capacity of up to 6,400 pounds. These towing features are also available as an optional towing package on the other Tacoma trim levels. Even without the towing package, the truck still has a payload capacity of up to 1,440 pounds to help you haul your gear and cargo.
Interior
While the Tacoma might be tough on the outside, it's all about comfort on the inside. The SR, SR5, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-Road all have fabric-trimmed seats. Choose the Limited and relax on leather-trimmed seats, or go for the TRD Pro and enjoy black leather-trimmed, heated front seats. Regardless of which trim level you choose, you'll get a four-way adjustable driver's seat and passenger seat.
Safety Features
Every Tacoma comes standard with a tire pressure monitor system that tracks the pressure in each tire and alerts you if it's too low. The SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off-Road, Limited, and TRD Pro also include an information screen that tells you the exact tire that's low.
