The 2016 Toyota Tacoma has a new look. It is bold and masculine with strong lines and character. Starting in the front, you will see a grille that grabs your attention and is flanked by optional LED projector-beam headlights with daytime running lights. There is also a deck rail system with four adjustable tie-down cleats, four fixed cargo bed tie-down points, and an attractive embossed tailgate. Choose between four different trim options, ranging from basic to luxury: the SR5, TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, and Limited.
Engine
All models of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma have strong, powerful engines. However, you have a choice of which engine best suits your needs. The SR5 model comes with a 2.7-liter, 16-valve, 4-cylinder engine that gets 159 horsepower. While the TRD Sport, TRD Off Road, and Limited versions all come with a 3.5-liter, V6, 24-valve, direct-injection Atkinson-cycle engine. Featuring variable valve timing with intelligence, this engine gets a whopping 278 horsepower.
Performance
The powerful 2016 Toyota Tacoma truck is impressive in that it gets 24 mpg on the highway. Although this is due in part to the way the engines are built, the 6-speed electronically controlled automatic transmission with intelligence plays a strong role in achieving that fuel-efficiency. The rear-wheel drive with automatic limited-slip differential, coil-spring double wishbone front suspension with stabilizer bar, and leaf spring rear suspension with staggered outboard-mounted gas shock absorbers and stabilizer bar work together to create a very balanced and smooth driving experience.
Interior
Prepare to be further impressed by the inside of the 2016 Toyota Tacoma. Although this vehicle is a masculine truck, it has many soft and luxurious features. The SR5, TRD Sport, and TRD Off-Road models come with fabric-trimmed seats, including a 4-way adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support. The Limited version has the same type of seats, except its seats are leather. Entune Audio with Bluetooth capabilities is standard, but the Limited version offers Entune Premium JBL Audio with integrated navigation and app suite, as well as a Smart Key System with pushbutton start.
